This beautiful art print of a Celtic Cross surrounded by words taken from St. Patrick’s Breastplate is a great gift for a loved one (or yourself) with a special devotion to St. Patrick.
About the Design:
This watercolor print depicts a Celtic Cross surrounded by text from St. Patrick’s Breastplate. The St. Patrick Breastplate is also known as the Lorica of St. Patrick, or the Deer's Cry, and is a popular prayer (and hymn) attributed to this patron saint of Ireland. According to tradition, St. Patrick and his companions used it for protection from an ambush during his journey to convert King Leoghaire and his subjects from paganism to Christianity. This tradition says that those waiting to ambush them saw only deer pass by, concealing St. Patrick and his companions from those planning them harm.
